Your Holiness,

We ask for Your blessing.

The fact that You admitted to the mistakes of the Roman Catholic Church regarding the Holy Inquisition and the Crusades, makes You an exemplary Hierarch. However, there remains one more important problem that demands Your attention.

In the Apostolic Library of the Vatican exist manuscripts that denote the indissoluble relation and continuity between the Ancient Hellenic Religion and Christianity.

 The following prophecy from Apollo is recorded by St. Athanasivs the Great in his work Exegetical on the Temple at Athens  (Ἐξηγητικόν περὶ τοῦ ἐν Ἀθήναις ναοῦ). The prophecy was pronounced to the seven Hellenes sages at the temple of the Unknown God at Athens. 

ΣΥΝΑΧΘΕΝΤΕΣ ΔΕ ΟΙ ΣΟΦΟΙ ΕΙΠΟΝ ΤΩ ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙ. ΠΡΟΦΗΤΕΥΣΟΝ ΗΜΑΣ ΛΕΞΑΣ, Ω ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝ, ΤΙΝΟΣ ΜΕΤΑ ΣΕ ΔΟΜΟΣ ΟΥΤΟΣ ΕΣΤΑΙ; ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝ ΑΠΟΚΡΙΝΑΜΕΝΟΣ ΤΟΥΤΟΙΣ ΕΦΗ. «ΟΣΑ ΜΕΝ ΠΡΟΣ ΑΡΕΤΗΝ ΚΑΙ ΚΟΣΜΟΝ ΟΡΩΡΕ ΠΟΙΕΙΝ, ΠΟΙΕΙΤΕ. ΕΓΩ ΔΕ ΕΦΕΤΜΕΥΩ ΤΡΕΙΣ ΕΝΑ ΜΟΥΝΟΝ ΥΨΙΜΕΔΟΝΤΑ ΘΕΟΝ, ΟΥ ΛΟΓΟΣ ΑΦΘΕΓΚΤΟΣ, ΕΝ ΑΔΑΗ ΚΟΡΗ ΕΓΚΥΜΟΣ ΓΕΝΟΜΕΝΟΣ, ΕΝ ΑΠΑΝΤΙ ΚΟΣΜΩ ΩΣΠΕΡ ΠΥΡΦΟΡΟΝ ΤΟΞΟΝ ΔΙΑΔΡΑΜΩΝ ΑΛΙΕΥΣΕΙ ΤΟΥΣ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΥΣ ΩΣΠΕΡ ΙΧΘΥΑΣ ΒΥΘΟΥ ΕΚ ΤΗΣ ΑΠΙΣΤΙΑΣ, ΟΥΣ ΚΑΙ ΖΩΓΡΗΣΑΣ ΠΑΤΡΙ ΠΡΟΣΑΞΕΙ ΔΩΡΟΝ. ΜΑΡΙΑ ΔΕ ΤΟΥΝΟΜΑ ΑΥΤΗΣ». ΚΑΙ ΤΑΥΤΑ ΠΡΟΦΗΤΕΥΣΑΣ ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝ ΕΙΠΕ.

In English:

Gathered there the sages addressed Apollo: “Allow us with a prophesy, prophet Apollo, to whom this temple will belong after you?” Apollo replied to them and said: “Everything that you preach others to do relating to virtue and decency, you should do as well. I only provide prophecies to a single triune God who extends to the heights and whose unspoken Logos, after being carried by an unsuspected virgin, exactly like the fire-bearing bow, will captivate the whole world, exactly like fish from the depths of unbelief. She will offer him as a gift to the Father, and Mary is her name.”

Nevertheless, in the context of the formal Hellenic-Orthodox Church teachings there is still the delusion that these two theologies are completely segregated and, even, antagonistic. This misconception impairs both sides – the Christians loose their connection to the ancient Hellenic tradition, while people, who have turned away from Christianity and rushed to the ancient gods, loose their connection to the present. In both cases, the future is becoming indiscernible.

We decided to build a new temple dedicated to Apollo at the southern point of Europe, on the island of Gavdos to revive the true relationship between the Hellenistic and the Christian religion and philosophy. Unfortunately, we have experienced violent opposition from the official Orthodox Church.

We invite You to make a statement on this important issue, so that You enlighten this obscure part of history and allow this dialogue to be continued on an fresh basis.

Furthermore, we ask for Your blessing on the completion of the completion of the construction of the temple of Apollo on the island of Gavdos. Any material support form the  Roman Catholic Church will be valuable.

It is crucial for Hellas and the future of Europe to complete this symbolic monument.

May the philosophical and religious oppositions and disagreements be overcome, so that  reconciliation and consent prevails on the European continent and planet Earth.
